What If WWE WrestleMania Was Always 2 Nights?

19. WrestleMania 17

A much better argument can be made for the Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match at the next year's WrestleMania in 2001 headlining the first night, as WWE knew the match would deliver. Sadly, there's still a disparity between that and Steve Austin vs. The Rock in a No DQ WWF Championship match, so something else probably would have taken the main event of Saturday night instead. TLC might have opened one of those shows to start things off with a bang.

The Undertaker vs. Triple H was the lead-in to the main event, so that might have been in contention—at least more so than the Gimmick Battle Royal and even the other title matches, which do feel like they're on a distinctly lower-than-main-event level, despite featuring future legends and Hall of Famers. Remember, at this time, Eddie Guerrero vs. Test for the European Championship isn't the same Eddie that is world champion three years later.

The real answer here is that The McMahon Family squabble would have headlined the first night of WrestleMania X-Seven, with Shane McMahon vs. Vince McMahon in a street fight having Linda, Stephanie, and Mick Foley all involved, especially given how the main event turns out.
