What WWE WON'T Tell You About Triple H's Legacy

Triple H Roman Reigns

How many promos?

Or is that (ironically) difficult because he repeated himself constantly in a sea of "You see..."s? He talked about the size of Stephanie's m*nge once. That was memorable. But no YouTube pirate ever made a Triple H promo super-cut like they did Flair or the Rock.

One more: Who did Triple H ever make? Since he was never the tippy-top guy - he was the guy who worked with the guy who made the money, to quote Jim Cornette - really, only Batista became a bigger star having worked with and studied under Triple H, which is frightening, given his role at the helm of developmental. He has been open to losing far longer than he was allergic to it - on the biggest stage, of course, because it's a far more magnanimous look - but did anybody else truly benefit from the win in the same way Trips himself benefitted from Mick Foley's genius sell-job? Neither Rollins nor Reigns did. They were more or less on the same level. Bryan was restored to where he was months earlier in storylines; in reality, to get there in the first place, he didn't need the Triple H match.

...Curtis Axel?

Bret Hart famously declared Triple H a "four out of ten", which was top - if inaccurate - banter.

He was never a four, but never has a seven been so lionised.
