Wild Sh*t Wrestling Did You’ve TOTALLY Forgotten About

1. The Brutal Karaoke Battle

There was a time when women had one clear purpose in wrestling: Break up the more serious parts of the show with titillation and/or comedy. Things changed for the better from 2015-ish onwards, but WWE reverted to type on the 10 July 2020 edition of SmackDown. Clearly, they were stuck for content, but this was a shocker.

Pre-'Main Event' Jey Uso hosted the “first ever karaoke showdown” between Naomi, Dana Brooke, Tamina and Lacey Evans. Sure, creative struggled to fill shows during the closed door era, but there was no excuse for something this dreadful. It was the pits of latter day Vince McMahon booking.

All four women had to perform their own spin on versions of classic WWE entrance themes from yesteryear, but it predictably turned into a scuffle between Naomi and Evans. The less said about Brooke's rendition of Honky Tonk Man's music or Tamina doing Triple H's theme, the better. There was nothing "ha ha" about any of this.

There's a difference between endearing yourself to the audience with goofy behaviour (Chad Gable) and...whatever this was supposed to be.
