WrestleMania 31 Spoilers: 10 Things That Won't Happen Tonight

2. An Undertaker Loss

The pro wrestling world was in shock and awe as The Undertaker laid unconscious on April 6, 2014, staring at the lights following his first WrestleMania loss to Brock Lesnar. It was a defeat those within the industry could have never imagined seeing. The fans in attendance certainly never have expected to witness the loss, reacting with mouths opened, eyes wide and stunned silence. Mainstream media outlets such as Sports Illustrated, ESPN and USA Today covered the loss, treating it like a legitimate sports record had fallen. Some questioned whether Undertaker would ever compete again. Would he retire? Would he ride off into the sunset, never again stepping foot inside a squared circle? Fans got the answers to their questions when Bray Wyatt issued a challenge to the Phenom at the Fastlane pay-per-view this past February, indicating that the Deadman was ready to return. He accepted said challenge shortly thereafter and the hype for the bout was underway. It would make sense to question whether Undertaker should defeat Wyatt, given the fact that the Reaper of Souls is the future of the company, a younger star who will stick around long after the Phenom hangs up his trench coat and hat. From a storyline perspective, it also makes sense that Undertaker may not be able to shake off last year's defeat in order to salvage what's left of his in-ring career. With that said, there is no way Undertaker loses this match. Yes, Wyatt is the future. Yes, him winning here is probably a better decision in the long term, but the Phenom has opted come back to help sell WrestleMania based on his involvement and he has earned the right to go over, avenging last year's defeat and proving that a single loss did not hurt his psyche or his desire to continue added victims to his 'Mania graveyard.
