Wrestling Moves That LOOK Horrible (...But Are Actually Totally SAFE!)

3. Headbutts

Another vicious strike that is usually anything but, the simple but savage headbutt can be found on just about every wrestling show you'll ever watch.

There has been the occasional 100% legit headbutt brought to a wrestling ring over the years, with Kevin Owens famously clocking Vince McMahon with a skull smash in 2018.

But these head-to-head impacts are actually typically created by the giver just either driving their head into the shoulder or chest of their opponent. A sweet thigh slap then produces the chilling sound of skull supposedly connecting with another.

The angle the move is shot from typically helps, too, with the camera being placed behind the receiver further helping build the illusion of a performer genuinely whacking their noggin into their adversary's.

Alternatively, a worked headbutt can also be achieved by the butter aiming for the back of their own hand when they grab the head of their opponent for the move.

Either way, there's certainly a way to safely deliver a horrible butt. And it's definitely recommended as the real deal doesn't look like a nice time for anyone.
