WWE: 10 Best Video Packages Ever Made

2. Randy Savage Tribute €“ The Scientist

The death of Randy Savage was, like most wrestler deaths, untimely and shocking. Although Savage was absent from wrestling for the best part of ten years, his moves and persona are still emulated across wrestling today, most notably by CM Punk. The Macho Man had not appeared in the WWE since 1994 after leaving for WCW. Savage and Vince had some differences, the details we are not really sure about, with rumours including that he slept with Vince's prize possession, (no, not John Cena), his daughter and princess Stephanie McMahon. Ever since, Savage was never mentioned again on WWE television, and if you believe gossip from the internet, Vince wouldn't allow anyone to mention Savage's name backstage and even refused to bring him in 2001 for nostalgia, something we know he loves to do. Either way, Savage was rarely mentioned as one of the true great wrestlers in WWE and still not a member of their Hall of Fame. However on the Raw after his death, the WWE put their squabbles with Savage aside and produced a fitting tribute video to the great man to the tune of a moving Coldplay song. Vince also came out and released a statement, declaring that Randy Savage was a building block for the WWE. Savage was a refreshing alternative to comic book characters of the 80s. When Hogan was headlining every event, Savage was producing great matches at every PPV entertaining the wrestling purists and in turn inspiring a long line of wrestlers, safe in the knowledge that character and muscles aren't the only way you can make it in the WWE €“ actual wrestling goes a long way too. To sum up the impact Savage had on wrestling, just think 'what if' today we had a roster full of John Cenas and no CM Punks and Daniel Bryans. Scary.
