WWE: 10 Candidates For Coaches On Revamped 'Tough Enough'

10. Joey Mercury

Joey Mercury made his WWE debut in 2005, winning the WWE Tag Team Championship alongside Johnny Nitro his first night in. Collectively known as MNM, Mercury and Nitro dominated the tag team division for years before parting ways in 2007. Mercury was released from the company shortly thereafter before being re-signed to a deal in 2010. He was briefly a member of SmackDown's Straightedge Society stable but disappeared from TV once the group dissolved by the end of the year. While Mercury is no longer an active competitor, he currently is a producer in WWE. Before that, he served as a trainer down in NXT, playing a part in the development in many of its talents. He is widely regarded as one of the most respected backstage personalities in WWE today. The Shield, in a recent WWE.com feature, noted that they consider Mercury to be the fourth member of their faction due to how much he has helped them evolve over the years. Some fans may recognize him from his MNM and SES days if he were to be named a coach for Tough Enough, but his role backstage has been much more influential in recent years than it ever was in the ring.
