WWE: 10 Candidates For Coaches On Revamped 'Tough Enough'
9. Finlay
Long before he was competing in tag team matches with his "son" Hornswoggle, Finaly was a force to be reckoned with in World Championship Wrestling as one of the company's toughest wrestlers. He jumped ship to WWE in 2005, but aside from a brief run as United States champion, Finlay never got his due as a top star on the SmackDown brand. He contended for the World Heavyweight Championship on several occasions, but despite being a great wrestler and a terrific heel, he was never able to win "the big one." Finlay retired from active competition in 2010 before taking up a backstage role in WWE. He was let go by the company in March 2011 after authorizing The Miz to interrupt the American national anthem, but was rehired the following year. He has been working for the company as an agent and full-time trainer ever since. Many Divas, both past and present, have credited Finlay for giving them the time of day and working with them when many people didn't. He has worked hard with the ladies in recent years and has been one of the biggest advocates of pushing the Divas division. That said, Finlay would be a perfect coach for Tough Enough in helping the rookies, specially the females, hone their skills. Not only that, but he can use his toughness to discipline the up-and-coming athletes and prove to them that wrestling may not be as easy as it looks. Bill DeMott had that role on the last season of the show and Finlay would be a suitable replacement. As long as he doesn't knock anyone out with his signature Shillelagh, he should be fine.
