WWE: 10 Most Excruciatingly Awkward Promos Ever Cut

4. Eddie's In Hell - Smackdown February 2006

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9obJH5mCUw Eddie Guerrero tragically passed away in November 2005. At first, WWE treated his untimely passing in a very classy way. Then, unexpectedly, they brought him into a storyline in late 2005 with Rey Mysterio facing Big Show and dedicating the match to Eddie Guerrero. While the match was going on and Rey was in trouble, he reached to the heavens and yelled "Eddie, help me!" Then at the Royal Rumble, Rey came out in Eddie's low rider. All of this was cake compared to Randy Orton's promo on Rey. Orton will say that he was trying to goad Mysterio into putting up his Wrestlemania title match on the line at No Way Out, but he crossed so many lines by telling Rey that Eddie was in hell. Storyline or not, it was uncalled for. Invoking deceased wrestlers into storylines has always been met with some resistance from fans. People weren't too thrilled with Paul Bearer's recent death being used in the storyline between CM Punk and The Undertaker last year. But when you take a man who was universally beloved by both the fans and his peers in WWE and you insinuate that he's in hell, you go beyond a simple wrestling storyline and end up somewhere much darker.
