5. Santino Marella

He is a complete novelty act in WWE, and added in with his diminutive stature, you are perhaps surprised to find out that Santino Marella is one of the toughest men in WWE. But he absolutely is. Trained in MMA, Marella has a Twenty year history of mastering Judo principles and moves. With a good career record in Judo, Santino has spoken openly about his ability to make it in MMA. He has stated that if it were not for Visa issues, his career would probably have been centered in Japan as an MMA fighter. Anthony Carelli, the man who portrays Santino, further established his MMA interests in July 2013 when he opened his own 15,000 square foot gym. Naming the gym 'The Battle Arts Academy', the gym specializes in strength and conditioning as well as teaching MMA and some pro wrestling. Santino is said to be very well respected backstage in WWE for his fighting credentials, and the toughness he demonstrates in skills that would see him match anybody in a fight. So next time Santino is on television with his sock puppet and doing cheap comedy sketches, just remember, that is one of the toughest dudes in WWE right there.
