8. Curtis Axel
It might surprise you that the other half of Rybaxel (who as a tag-team must hold some sort of record for the sheer amount of terrible ring names, nicknames and team names associated with them) ranks above Ryback, but I'd argue that Curtis Axel has done more with the little he has been given than Ryback has done with his range of opportunities. If you saw much of NXT, you'll no doubt remember
Axel's 'Genesis' promo, which will no doubt go down as one of the worst promos ever televised. Few would have thought that Michael McGillicutty (another awful ring name) would go on to have a lengthy Intercontinental title reign. Few would tip Axel as a future world champion at this point in his career, but he has time and again proven himself to be a good hand and very capable of putting on a solid match. Axel certainly has a long future ahead of him in the WWE, whether it be on screen or as an agent or trainer, and at this point I would not be at all surprised if he outlasts his current team mate.
