9. Why Is The Divas Division So Bad?

From William Winston via email Why is the WWE Divas Division so bad? I really try to get behind the divas but most of the time the matches are either a joke or horrible. I know not every diva can be a "Trish Stratus" or "Lita" but at the same time, you have to give the divas a chance. What's wrong, the divas or management?
I think it's a combination of both with more of the blame going on management. It's up to them to set out the specifications for what they want in the women they hire. As far as we know, their hiring policy is to look at women who have a background in modeling, bodybuilding, arm wrestling or something athletic that doesn't necessarily involve wrestling training in their past. What WWE should do is recruit more women who have a background in wrestling. Obviously some of their women have wrestled in the indies before, but not enough of them really. Paige was signed when she was still in her teens and she had experience too. Emma was trained by Lance Storm in Calgary. She moved from Australia to do that, so it shows how dedicated she is to the business. There are some talented women on WWE's roster. I think AJ Lee and Natalya are the best of the bunch while both Brie & Nikki Bella have improved in the last year. Women like Naomi and Aksana have also shown improvement with Naomi looking like a standout athlete capable of some awesome offensive moves. Alicia Fox is very consistent although has no gimmick. Tamina Snuka's value is that she has an intimidating and while she isn't always putting on great matches, what she does really works. Some women like Rosa Mendes should strictly be valets and I'm not sure why WWE refuses to use more women in that role. There's definitely a lack of depth in the current WWE divas division and I think that's something that needs to be corrected. The problem is that in WWE's eyes a lot of women are replaceable or not considered to be draws, so they are unlikely to invest in them much more.
