WWE: 10 Real Life Wrestler Romances That Ended In Heartbreak

8. Macho Man And Miss Elizabeth

miss elizabeth The late Randy "Macho Man" Savage (Randy Poffo) was synonymous with his on-screen valet Miss Elizabeth (Elizabeth Heulette), who managed him for the majority of his career. Beautiful, ladylike and demure, Elizabeth was the perfect foil for the larger than life Savage. Miss Elizabeth was introduced to the WWE universe as Savage's manager in 1985 and the €œFirst Lady of Professional Wrestling" was a big hit, softening Savage's bad-guy persona, and giving the promotion a long-running angle where the Macho Man defended her "honor" against a smitten George "The Animal" Steele, Hulk Hogan, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, etc. The unofficial first couple of wrestling publicly tied the knot in the "Match Made in Heaven" at SummerSlam in 1991, although in real life they had been married since 1984. The couple met whilst Elizabeth was working as a camera operator for her fathers television station which hosted events for International Championship wrestling, run by Angelo Poffo, Macho Mans' father. Savage and Miss Elizabeth divorced in 1992, Savage announced the divorce in an open letter to the fans stating "The divorce is nobody's fault". The couple they remained an on-screen pair from a business standpoint following Savage's departure from WWE to WCW in the mid-90's. Sadly, Elizabeth passed away in 2003 and Savage died in 2011.
