WWE: 10 Reasons Why 2014 Can Be The Best Year Ever
4. The Potential Surprise Return Of CM Punk
This is a huge maybe at this point. We don't know if CM Punk wants to come back to WWE or if he's even welcome back by management. His absence from WWE the night after the Royal Rumble has been one of the biggest stories so far this year. With his contract set to expire in July, he's not able to do anything else at the moment and it seems unlikely that he will re-sign with WWE since he's currently not with them. If there's anything we've learned over the years as wrestling fans it's that anything can happen. We've seen other major names go away angrily and come back (Ultimate Warrior, Steve Austin and Brock Lesnar to name a few), so it's definitely possible. We have no idea if he misses it or has any desire to come back. Maybe he'll just wrestle on the indies or try MMA. When it comes to a private guy like CM Punk nobody really knows what he's thinking. A Punk return would be a big deal. Considering he left at a time when he was one of the top three babyfaces in the company and reportedly second to John Cena in merchandise numbers, he would likely generate a huge reaction from wrestling fans that have missed the man that calls himself "the best in the world." As a fan of pro wrestling and wanting to see the best performers go at it, here's hoping that somehow some way we get to see CM Punk back in a WWE ring in 2014.
