WWE: 10 Reasons A War Games Match Should Be Used At Extreme Rules

7. War Games Content On The WWE Network

Wwe Network WWE has never been one to miss an opportunity to boast about the fact that they won the Monday Night Wars, which ended when they bought out WCW in 2001. With the buyout came the extensive WCW library, which is now all available on the WWE Network. Theming the output on the Network around the next PPV is something that WWE has already explored. In the run-up to Wrestlemania 30 it promoted the catalogue of previous Wrestlemanias and associated content. Having a War Games match at Extreme Rules would be the ideal chance for WWE to show off some of the WCW footage; as well as peak the interest of some die-hard WCW fans who might subscribe to the Network purely for WCW programming. The spotlight could also be shone on former War Games participants, and new output could be created based on their experiences of the match. There's lots of room to involve the Network. That being said, the prospect of Michael Cole promoting the WWE Network more than he already does isn't something we'd like in particular.
