WWE: 10 Reasons A War Games Match Should Be Used At Extreme Rules
4. It Would Appeal To Returning Viewers
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KemDpBaS14k WWE fans can be a fickle bunch - coming and going from the product whenever they think it's getting better or going downhill. A lot of fans that grew up watching the Attitude Era switched off during the PG Era, and understandably so. There were a few years when it was hard-going watching WWE (2009/2010, we're looking at you) but as of late business seems to have picked up. There's a buzz around WWE at the minute, which there hasn't been for a long time. With the intrigue around Undertaker's status, the passing of Ultimate Warrior and the McMahon/Austin-style feud between The Authority & Daniel Bryan/The Shield, there's reason for those that stopped watching to start again. WWE needs to keep their attention though. If things seem as though they're slipping back, the returning fans might just switch off again. By introducing War Games, WWE will be appealing to this particular audience, who enjoyed the brutal matches of the Attitude Era. The match doesn't need to descend into a bloodbath, but it will need that certain tone that appeals to Attitude Era fans. If they want to keep them that is.
