WWE: 10 Reasons Why Michael Cole Needs To Be Removed As The 'Voice'

9. So Long 'Are You Serious,' Hello The 'JBL & Cole' Show

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2nYFahHUys When the WWE first decided to come out of the dark ages and into the modern era of internet and social media, largely thanks to Zack Ryder (more on him later), they debuted a show featuring Josh Mathews & "the Road Dogg" Jesse James called 'Are You Serious?,' a five minute online retrospective of everything that was wrong with professional wrestling. And it was good, apart from that annoying little Triple H puppet (does he have to be in EVERYTHING?). It showcased just how ridiculous booking could be and was quite funny, especially the homosexual overtones the banter between Road Dogg and Josh Mathews had. It became my weekly ritual to sit down on a Monday (I live in Australia) and have a laugh at WCW (Come on, 75% of the shows greatest moments came from them). Okay, maybe that is harsh, have a laugh at all things bad with wrasslin'. And from what I read on internet reports the show was quite popular with everyone, from old school fans to pg padawans. Then, inexplicably, it was cancelled without reason and replaced with....'the JBL and Cole show.' ARE YOU SERIOUS? This decision alone could've made a future episode. What exactly is "the JBL and Cole show?" I don't know, it seems to have only been created as a platform for the two top commentators for the WWE (that's just sad) to act like complete morons. It has no entertainment value whatsoever. It's not funny, has no relevance to ANYTHING happening in the WWE and actually comes off as two middle aged men acting like childish buffoons. In fact, after watching a few episodes of this I have lost a little respect I had for JBL. This show has done him absolutely no favours & has reduced his character to nothing more than a dim-witted clown, something that I believe is a stark contrast to the rich Texan persona his character actually is meant to be. And Michael Cole simply does not have the screen presence, the charisma, the comic timing & dare I say, the intelligence to host anything. His jokes fall flat EVERY single time and he just comes off like a 10-year-old kid who has just realized he is on camera for the first time in his life. It's truly embarrassing to watch and makes me inwardly puke. But allow me to put it this also in perspective. They replaced the Road Dogg, Jesse James, one of the most talented on mike personalities the WWE has ever had with Michael Cole. What more needs to be said. And speaking of JBL....

Passions in life: Movies, Music and Wrestling....My childhood was spent growing up in the "Outback" of Australia (I'm a little bit country) and my adulthood resided within the city limits (I'm a little bit rock and roll), so you could say that I am the best (or worst) of both worlds. A 6 foot 7 ex wannabe pro wrestler (whose career was cut short due to a busted back, NOT caused by wrestling) & muso who has a precocious cat & a habit of doing the wrong thing but for the right reasons. The story of my life???? All demos, no albums ;)
