WWE: 10 Things You Need To Know About Seth Rollins

10. He Started Young But Thought Big

Born Colby Lopez in Davenport, Iowa, the future Seth Rollins debuted in 2003 for his home promotion Scott County Wrestling under the less-than-inspirational moniker of Gixx, also performing for IWA South. Here€™s a little-seen video of (allegedly) his first ever match for SCW. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9z2V8nyeneQ Lopez had started out the same way as many other wrestling-crazy kids in small town America €“ in backyards, performing ridiculously dangerous spots with little or no formal training. At the age of fourteen, he was running backyard wrestling shows with his friends every month, and finding that he had a natural aptitude for the more athletic, aerial moves he€™d seen on television. At sixteen, he€™d pretty much decided that college was never going to happen€ he wanted to be a professional wrestler, and made the move to SCW the following year. In 2006, he attended Wrestlemania XXII at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont and vowed to himself that it€™d be the last Wrestlemania he attended as a fan. Next time, he€™d be on the card. Think that was ambitious for a kid from the mid-West? According to an interview with Dan Campbell for Talking With Soup (hit 2.00 below), at sixteen years old his pro wrestling character€™s name was God. And his finish was a 630 splash through a table. Now that€™s ambitious. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywSD_b33KJM
