5. Plea As A Friend

The irony about Vince and Punk is that they actually get on quite well. Sure, they aren't going to hang by Vince's swimming pool together, but this is two men with a lot in common. Both are very creative. Both are notoriously proud, there is a mutual respect and they actually talk business quite a bit. Punk has admitted this on several occasions, saying he has had Vince's ear backstage since 2011. "If I have a problem, I just go directly to Vince, I don't actually know who my boss is" Punk told Ariel Helwani last week. In that same interview, Punk states that he texts Vince all the time. "Vince is like me, he doesn't sleep, so I'll text him at 4am about ideas." From this we know the pair are open with communicating. They are relaxed enough to talk backstage and text each other during the night. That sounds like borderline friendship, although both men would probably baulk at that suggestion. With communication bordering on friendship though, Vince should use this to his advantage for getting Punk back. The boss should pick the phone up and speak to Punk man to man. The superstar would appreciate that. Reach out as a friend and make the plea for your best worker to return.
