WWE: 10 Things From WWE History We Still Need Closure From
4. The Rock's Status
The Rock is by far the most successful crossover Superstar in WWE history. And in a company that found its initial fame on the back of Hulk Hogan, that is no small feat. But Rocky has proven that through hard work, anything is possible. He made his name in WWE and he then took that fan following to Hollywood, where he is now a firmly established big money actor. The Rock had a dream to succeed outside the business and he gave everything he had to make it happen. And every time he returns to WWE, it's a definite payday not only for himself but for the company as well. Though he has been criticized for being less than a part time Superstar, The Rock has proven just how valuable he is to WWE with each return. But it could very well be that Rocky is beginning to lose his impact with the crowd. The reason for that is because every time he comes back, the hate against him seems to increase. And it's not all completely directed at Rock's acting career either. Many of the issues that come from this story center on his behavior. That includes the notion that he supposedly has an elitist attitude and does not mingle with the other guys in the locker room. He also only returns for the high profile pay-per-views like WrestleMania and rarely does any work throughout the rest of the year for WWE. So perhaps the time has come for both WWE and The Rock to shake hands and call it a day. WWE can induct Rock to the Hall of Fame and he can officially retire from the business that made him a household name to begin with.
