WWE: 10 Things From WWE History We Still Need Closure From
3. CM Punk's Paused Career
When CM Punk recently left WWE, he did so with a great deal of controversy. Punk reportedly met with both Vince McMahon and Triple H before Raw went on the air and when he left their office, he walked right out of the building and went home. That does not exactly sound like the actions of a man that is supposedly The Best in the World. But for whatever reason, whether it was being moved into a WrestleMania spot against Triple H or due to nagging injuries, the fact remains that Punk is gone. And no one knows when or if he will decide to return. This situation is obviously number one on the list of many WWE fans. And as of this writing, Punk's absence is still being discussed as fans just want to see their favorite in the ring once again. But similar to a few of the other entries in this slideshow, the only way to get real closure is for WWE to get CM Punk back to the table. Opening the lines of communication would be vital to getting at least one small sliver of hope for Punk's fans to hang onto. And honestly, Punk owes much of his success to his whirlwind tour of WWE since the infamous pipebomb of 2011. It was that singular moment in time that fans latched onto, the moment that revitalized Punk's career and cemented him as a true top player in the business. The WWE faithful decided that they wanted Punk to be on that top tier and now they want to see him come back to the fold. They chant his name, they hold up signs and they wait for the day that the announcement is made that The Second City Saint is returning to the company. And until that happens, there will be no closure at all for fans.
