5. Ultimate Warrior vs. Hulk Hogan - WrestleMania 6
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pb9aAXo-u78 The World Champion vs. the Intercontinental Champion. It was the only time it's happened at a WrestleMania and likely the only time it will ever happen. They were unquestionably the two most popular guys on the roster too. There was also a sense among wrestling fans that they were ready for somebody else to be "the man" that wasn't Hulk Hogan. He was the top guy, he had the title most of the time and he rarely lost any matches. A clean loss was something that was unheard of at the time. As a 9 year old kid at the time, I didn't care too much about match quality or anything like that. It was all about the result. However, when you watch the match back today you can appreciate how hard both guys on to put on one of the most memorable matches ever. They really busted their asses to put on a show. There was drama with some great nearfalls and the ref bump that made you wonder who was going to win. When Warrior was finally able to keep Hogan down for the three count (it was close as Hogan kicked out right after the pin) it was something of an upset. It was also a match that was worthy of the enormous hype leading up to it. You wouldn't think that two average workers could deliver a classic like that, but to their credit they did it.
