WWE: 10 Most Undeserving WrestleMania Wrestlers Of The Last Decade

6. WrestleMania 29 €“ Fandango (vs. Chris Jericho)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRO3lvxIuLk If you'll recall, Fandango actually had his debut match at WrestleMania. Until that point, he'd dodged his bookings by refusing to wrestle unless they could pronounce his name properly. So unless you'd seen Johnny Curtis's work on NXT, this was everyone's first look at Fandango's wrestling skills. They should not have been showcased here. When you have this much of a build, you'd better deliver, and Fandango did not dazzle in the least. The match was completely unremarkable, and that was only because Chris Jericho and JBL worked so hard to elevate it from complete garbage. It's not that Fandango is a terrible wrestler; it's that his level of expertise was wildly misplaced here. When you're trying to tell the story of an impressive debut, as JBL was doing his darndest to do on commentary, you need the fans to believe that you can challenge your opponent. Luckily, Chris Jericho is known for helping new talent, and he led Fandango through a serviceable match. Unfortunately for the fans, serviceable is really not enough when your expectations are so high at WrestleMania. They did the best they could with what they had, and it DID spark a Fandango-ing revolution for a moment. We'll always have the music.
