3. Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan

Who were the men responsible for this? Randy Orton and Triple H. Perfectly setting up for Bryan to finally overcome this and end his rivalry with The Authority by winning the Royal Rumble match that he wasn't even entered in and going on to challenge Orton at WrestleMania for his now unified WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Add in the fact that Bryan's former tag team partner Kane has turned corporate to join the stable and Bryan's frequent clashes with hitmen group The Shield and everything was in place for the story of Bryan overcoming the politics to finally become 'The Face of the WWE'. Bryan could have been forced to defend his WrestleMania shot at Elimination Chamber against either Kane or Triple H himself in a last ditch effort to stop him, or even against The Shield who would be overcome because of their current problems. There were so many different ways that WWE had at their disposal to put all the pieces together, they had all of the pieces in front of them, but instead they opted for Batista. This story would have also allowed The Authority to finally unite behind their champion Orton instead of their constant inconsistencies with their support of him, they're like the TNA booking team.
