9. Sting vs Kane

WWE are very keen to bring WCW legend Sting in for Wrestlemania 30. It would be a major coup for McMahon, signing the one big WCW star he never got his hands on. For Sting it would be a fitting way to finish off his legendary career, a final run with WWE would throw up several major pay days for Sting and lead to a retirement the next year at Wrestlemania 31. Negotiations are ongoing, and it is believed Sting is open to coming to WWE. A one year deal in which he appears at major events would suit both parties. A big debate stemming from the Sting WWE discussions is what exactly to do with the WCW legend at Wrestlemania 30. A match with the Undertaker has been hotly tipped, and it is true that would be a major match for the ages. What has been pointed out to Vince McMahon is that the Taker vs Sting bout will be an epic, but the match is completely wrong for Wrestlemania. At Mania it is all about the streak. Nobody is going to buy into the idea that Sting in his debut WWE match is going to end the streak. WWE would seriously struggle to build Sting up to a point in which he is a realistic challenger. The Sting vs Taker match would be much better saved for Summerslam, where Undertaker could conceivably lose. What makes way more sense for Mania is to bring Sting in to take on the newly repackaged heel 'Corporate Kane'. WWE are now discussing this match as a good potential way to bring Sting in against a WWE legend who can put the Stinger over. It is more logical. Both men are legendary in the business, there is a heel vs face dynamic, and Kane is similar in style to Undertaker anyway. The match would be very good, Kane is a reliable performer and willing to do a job. The 'Big Red Machine' has needed an in ring feud since going heel, Sting could well be the man that WWE has in mind.
