4. Justin Gabriel
Yet another former member of the Nexus, the high-flying Justin Gabriel has found little success outside of the NXT group. As the first South African member of the WWE roster, Gabriel's fast-paced offense seemed to make him a natural babyface who could work a crowd and sell for a big, bad heel. So, of course, he was called up to the main roster with the rest of the NXT participants and made a heel. That was just fine though because during the Nexus group attacks, the babyface usually sold Gabriel's 450 splash finish like they had been hit by a car. Even Gabriel sold the finish like crazy, putting over the power of the move and developing a killer finish as a result. Once WWE managed to sink the Nexus angle (no small feat considering it was the hottest storyline the company had seen in years), Gabriel was moved to the Smackdown brand where he was made part of the Corre. The Corre was a new stable consisting of former Nexus members and the crowd reacted with immediate indifference. Gabriel continued to be buried in the tag team ranks until eventually disappearing off television except for the occasional Superstars or Main Event appearance. As a former three time tag champion, you would think Gabriel would at least get a shot on the big stage but every one of his chances seem destined to fail.
