2. Have A Nice Day, Mick Foley

The book that started it all. Mick Foley's first memoir was released in 1999 to critical and commercial acclaim. It really was brilliant, written in a very engaging and entertaining manner. You learned a lot about the business too Foley had a great knack in taking you into the locker room and giving you the sense of the industry. It is an essential piece of literature for any wrestling fan. It was also however the start of Foley's descent into egomania. Suddenly he thought he was an author, and has since published far more inferior books. The sequel, Foley Is Good, was in fact ok, but his attempts at fiction and memoirs since have been very low standard. His most recent WWE memoir, The Hardcore Diaries, was a bitter and unnecessary look at the WWE, in which Foley selfishly thought he knew more than Vince McMahon regarding the wrestling industry. It bordered on embarrassing. Still, the initial Foley book has stood the test of time. Even now you can still pick it up and lose a whole afternoon reading the varied and interesting stories Foley has to offer. If only he had stuck to his original plan at the end of this book and retired gracefully into history.
