WWE: 12 Wrestlers With Retirement On Their Mind

5. The Big Show

As one of Vince McMahon's favourite wrestlers, expect Big Show to be WWE for life. His wrestling days however are numbered. The 42 year old will have been competing for 20 years next year, enjoying a million dollar plus contract for the majority of those years. He is a made man and at this point has achieved everything he could have ever hoped in pro wrestling. Retirement is probably a necessity at this point given the size and height he has to deal with. It can't be fun to travel as a giant, nor can it be all that fun to be bumping in the ring. His body won't be able to absorb blows like it did in his younger years and the weight on his knees and joints will be damaging. The time to get out is now, deterioration is often only noticeable in the longer term, if Show wants to enjoy a pain free later life then he needs to get away from wrestling. WWE will miss the star because they've counted on him for so long. He fills a spot and there's no obvious giant to come in and replace him. In saying that, Show was responsible for drawing one of the worst WWE Survivor Series buy rates ever last year. He has perhaps fulfilled his potential and offers little value in continuing to compete. Retirement Verdict: 2015 his twentieth year in the industry has a full circle feel.
