WWE: 15 Most Important Undercard Matches In WrestleMania History

14. Shawn Michaels vs Chris Jericho (WrestleMania XIX)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YDaVsgI-g0 It's been said that Shawn only ever meant to come back to do the one match with Triple H, in 2002. When that feud eventually ended in December, it was unclear what future Shawn had in professional wrestling. This question was answered soon thereafter when Jericho began insulting Shawn on the mic, leading to an underrated feud between the two in which Jericho played the underdog looking to step out of the shadow of the master. With the stacked card that was Wrestlemania XIX, the fact that this match is often the one quoted as the show stealer tells a fair few tales. Whilst not as historically significant as other matches on this list, nor ever a candidate to close that show, it's remembered fondly as the first of Shawn Michaels' run of Match of the Year candidates that would lead to him becoming "Mr. Wrestlemania" and stands as a genuine gem amongst a genuinely great Wrestlemania.
