WWE: 15 Notable Performers That Have Never Been In A Royal Rumble Match

13. Stevie Richards

After five years of performing in the notorious ECW promotion, Stevie Richards joined WCW in 1997 before retiring from a neck injury. He nevertheless returned to an in-ring career just two years later in 1999 when he joined the WWE. After a brief spell with an impersonator gimmick, Richards became the leader of the Right To Censor, a stable that humorously parodied the Parents Television Council by condemning the violent, profane and sexual content that was included on the WWE programming of the time. Though all three of the group's other male members (Bull Buchanan and, somewhat ironically, Val Venis and the Godfather (renamed the Goodfather)) took part in the 2001 Royal Rumble, Richards was absent, and disappeared from television following the group's dissolution. Despite continuing to remain on the payroll for another seven years, Richards criminally failed to appear in a prominent role on television again, despite being aligned with the WCW/ECW alliance and appearing on the WWE's take on the ECW brand between 2006 and 2008, after which he was released. Presumably as a result of holding this position in the company, Richards was never inserted into a Rumble match despite the longevity of his tenure, even though his stablemates in ECW's Blue World Order, The Blue Meanie and Hollywood Nova, racked up three appearances between them (though Nova's were as fitness fanatic jobber Simon Dean). Other notable 'ECW Originals' that ended up in the WWE only to never take part in a Rumble include Balls Mahoney and Mike Awesome.
