WWE: 20 Best Moments in WWE Raw History

14. Ladder Match Standing Ovation

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePx4telvQok Edge and Christian and the Hardy Boyz changed tag team wrestling entirely in 1999. Though Edge and Christian had been teaming for a long time, they were somewhat lost in the shuffle until the Hardy Boyz started to make a name for themselves. The teams were perfectly paired against each other and had their first majorly impressive match at King of the Ring 99. The Hardyz went on to win the tag titles for a short while during the summer, then in early Autumn, embarked on a Best of Seven series against E & C in the €œTerri Invitational Tournament.€ Over the course of a few weeks on Raw and Smackdown, the two teams traded victories, in order to win the managerial services of Terri Runnels and a cash prize of $100,000. The series came down to a ladder match final at No Mercy 1999 which was the best ladder match the company had ever seen at the time. Both teams put everything on the line and destroyed themselves for the match. In the end it was the hardy Boyz who won the match, but both teams received a standing ovation from the crowd in Cleveland. The next night on Raw, the Hardyz were joined in the ring by Edge and Christian and both teams again received an incredible standing ovation from the fans in attendance. It was the first time as a fan I had seen performers get such rightful recognition for an incredible match, and a credit to the WWF that they put aside a whole segment on Raw just to pay tribute to both teams.
