8. British Bulldog Wins IC Title At SummerSlam 1992
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVouEF5SOB4 The 1992 edition of SummerSlam is that rare show where the Intercontinental Match ended the show instead of the WWE Title match. Why did that happen? Because the event that took place at Wembley Stadium in 1992 saw the British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith going after his brother-in-law Bret Hart's IC Title. This crowd was one of the best ever and should be a reminder to WWE officials of how awesome the British wrestling fans are. The event was actually taped a few days before it aired, which is partly why they haven't had a major PPV there since. It's a logistic issue. Bulldog's match with Hart is one of the best matches in WWE history. The crowd was into everything they did even though it was a face vs. face match. There was so much on the line that they didn't care if the wrestlers got along like brothers. The finish was memorable as Hart hit a sunset flip in the middle of the ring. To counter it, Bulldog leaned forward and held Hart down in a pinning predicament. The ref counted the pinfall for win. When it was over, the brothers-in-law hugged in the ring and the fans loved it even more. As soon as it was over, Vince McMahon (the announcer on the show) said it was one of the greatest matches ever. It still is. The crowd reaction is one of the best ever too.
