WWE 2001 PPVs From Worst To Best

4. Invasion

The Good: It started off so well... The Invasion angle got off to a great start at Invasion. Although not all of the matches were masterpieces, there was still an air of excitement over how things would turn out on the night. Plus, at least two of the matches were great and several others served a purpose. Best bout honours went to RVD and Jeff Hardy who competed for the Hardcore Title in something of a dream match. The two innovative grapplers brawled around the building and used chairs and ladders to great effect. It's amazing to watch just how hungry and motivated these two guys were in 2001. Also worth watching is the 'Inaugural Brawl' main event which pitted team ECWCW against Team WWE. Long, chaotic and with a hot crowd and shock finish, this was encouraging. The Bad: When people were fantasy booking WCW/ECW versus the WWE, they probably didn't have Nick Patrick versus Earl Hebner in mind. Also, it was clear in many matches that the WWE guys were 'sending a message' to the Alliance member. Just watch how Bradshaw stiffs the promising Sean O'Haire and Chuck Palumbo The Rest: Invasion did a monster buyrate: 775,000 people ordered the show.
