WWE 2001 PPVs From Worst To Best

2. No Way Out

The Good: Lots and lots of it! No Way Out 2001 is one of the most consistent WWE shows ever. The Intecontinental fatal four way (featuring Benoit, Jericho, Eddie Guerrero and X-Pac) was great. It's even better when you know that the four men didn't have time to properly put together the match beforehand and did most of it on the fly. Trish Stratus and Stephanie McMahon had a shockingly entertaining match for two non-workers. This match could and, by rights should have been a train wreck but it was actually good. Following that match was a five star classic three stages of hell match Between Austin and Triple H. This is the match they should have had at Survivor Series four months earlier. Violence, hatred, brutality and a great story told - this one is the real deal. The show ended with The Rock capturing the WWE Championship from Kurt Angle in another excellent match. No Way Out 2001 proved that WWE could be as good as they were during their incredibly run in early-to-mid 2000. The Bad: Not a great deal. Although Jerry Lawler versus Steven Richards wasn't much of a match, nobody expected it to be (and at least it was short). The Brothers of Destruction versus Edge and Christian versus The Dudleys table match is alright, but would have been better had Edge not suffered an injury early on. The Rest: This would be the last WWE appearance of The Kat, who was fired on Raw the next night for reasons nobody can explain (the rumour doing the rounds at the time is that she was getting an ego). Her then-husband Jerry Lawler quit the company in protest, allowing Paul Heyman to come in and take his place.
