WWE 2001 PPVs From Worst To Best

13. Vengeance

The Good: The main story of Vengeance was the mini tournament to crowd a new WWE Undisputed Champion, unifying the WWE and WCW World Heavyweight belts. The four wrestlers vying for the coveted crown were Steve Austin, The Rock, Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho. Guess who the underdog was here? Surprisingly, WWE decided to put the title on Jericho and The Highlight of the Night became the first man in history to defeat The Rock and Stone Cold in one night. The best match of the night was the scorcher between Rock and Jericho. Those two always had amazing chemistry together. Other good matches came courtesy of the sprawling Hardcore Championship match between Rob Van Dam and a freshly-turned The Undertaker and the Angle/Austin tournament match. The Bad: If you thought Kane and Big Show only started sucking in 2015, then go back and watch them teaming against The Dudley Boys here. Absolutely shocking. Another, more surprising dud came courtesy of Matt and Jeff Hardy. The two brothers had a bad match in front of an apathetic crowd (although, in their defence, Matt was incredibly sick at the time). The Rest: WWE continued to tease a romance between The Rock and Trish Stratus, which went nowhere. New 'co-owner' Ric Flair made his an appearance to continue his rivalry with Vince McMahon.
