WWE 2005 PPVs From Worst To Best

6. Royal Rumble

The Good: A solid undercard and a great Rumble match, what's not to love? Shawn Michaels and Edge squared off in a competitive opener. Although it started slow, it really got going at the end and Edge's win was a pleasant surprise. They'd have better matches later on, but this was still good. Angle versus Show versus JBL suffered from the same problems that a lot of WWE triple threat matches suffer from, but it was still pretty decent and entertaining in parts. A lot of people look back at JBL's original title run as a failure, but he played the cowardly champion to perfection. Orton and Triple H strived to have an epic match for the ages...but came up short. That would be a running theme throughout their long feud. It was still a good match, but not the classic they were probably hoping for. Also, it's a bit unsettling watching the Orton concussion stuff in a post-Benoit world. The Rumble, as previously said, was awesome. The finish may have been spectacularly botched but before that it was a captivating watch. The Bad: Heidenreich and Undertaker's casket match was bad but not as terrible as you might imagine. Still, 'Taker was lucky to get out of that feud alive, considering how dangerously sloppy Heidenreich was. The Rest: Ever wonder how it was to be a rookie in WWE ten years ago? Watch Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit and Hardcore Holly just absolutely annihilate Tough Enough IV winner Daniel Puder with chops and stiff blows.
