14. Best WWE Network Original Show: The Cruiserweight Classic

The tournament that paved the way for the return of the entire Cruiserweight division and 205 Live, The Cruiserweight Classic (CWC) provided some of the best matches of 2016. Excellent performance after excellent performance from the likes of Kota Ibushi, TJ Perkins, and Gran Metalik entertained wresting purists throughout the weeks the tournament was held.
Paired with exciting, genuine commentary from Mauro Ranallo and Daniel Bryan, the CWC was exactly what many wrestling fans wish WWE was like all the time. Unlike the majority of WWE Network shows that feature former stars or Jack Swagger pranking people, the CWC built for the future and actually mattered. For these reasons, it should win the Slammy for Best WWE Network Original Show.
Current Cruiserweight Champion Brian Kendrick seems most likely to accept the award on behalf of the division. Taking credit for the success of the CWC in a cocky acceptance speech, Kendrick will struggle to avoid an interruption from either TJ Perkins or new rival Rich Swann. For those who haven't experienced the CWC, you're definitely missing out. It's a shame the cruiserweight division has seemingly lost its spark since debuting on the main roster.
