WWE: 5 Major Accomplishments Still Eluding CM Punk

1. Headline WrestleMania... And Win!

John Cena vs CM Punk NOC 12 CM Punk is no stranger to being in what WWE would call a "main event" at WrestleMania. He's been there each of the last two years, first defending his WWE Championship against Chris Jericho, then competing against Undertaker and trying to end The Streak. Both were great, marquee matches, but neither was a true main event compared to the twice in a lifetime Rock/Cena matches. At some point, WWE ought to grant Punk an opportunity he's already earned in truly headlining the biggest show of the year. A match against Stone Cold Steve Austin would certainly fit the bill and draw plenty of pay-per-view buys, but there's also a rematch worthy of the grandest stage of them all. John Cena, WWE's go to main event star, is the ultimate WrestleMania opponent for CM Punk. In recent memory, no rivalry in WWE has produced as great of matches as the feud between CM Punk and John Cena. From their immediately legendary match at Money in the Bank in July 2011 to their epic clash on Raw last February, CM Punk and John Cena have already put together multiple matches worthy of a WrestleMania main event. WWE has been very wise in spacing the Punk/Cena matches apart so fans never get burnt out on seeing the pairing. One day, the time will come for this series to reach its finale. There is no better place to hold that match than WrestleMania. If John Cena is destined to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania 30, so be it. Perhaps it is best to wait on Punk vs. Cena at WrestleMania anyway. WrestleMania 32 will mark the 20th anniversary of the 60-minute Iron Man match between Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels. Punk and Cena could pay homage to that match while writing their own chapter in WrestleMania history with an Iron Man match for the WWE Championship to end their feud once and for all. Punk may not necessarily have to win the match, but it would certainly boost the perception of Punk in the eyes of WWE's biggest annual audience to see him go over the top guy in John Cena. Such a victory would provide CM Punk with the ultimate, show-closing WrestleMania moment. What else do you hope to see CM Punk accomplish in his WWE career? Let us know in the comments section below!
