WWE: 5 Reasons Cesaro's Alliance With Paul Heyman Will Fail
5. The Timing Is Off
The alliance between Cesaro and Paul Heyman comes at a strange time for both individuals. Paul Heyman is coming off of one of, if not the biggest, moment in his professional career. He was by the side of Brock Lesnar when they shocked the world and put an end to The Undertaker's Streak. The crowd was stunned and silent, and everyone watching at home could not believe what just happened. The Streak is beloved, so the end of it creates nuclear heat for Lesnar and Heyman. The promo on RAW the next night was brilliant, as he cemented Lesnar's legacy as the real deal while everyone else in the WWE, past and present, are just wannabes. After all the mainstream attention Lesnar got, and the promo delivered by Heyman on RAW, what happens next? Brock Lesnar will not be seen for months, and he will be forgotten again by the time SummerSlam rolls around. The WWE will not be able to capitalize on the heat created by ending The Streak. Cesaro is coming off of a split from Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter, and becoming a fan favorite. The next logical step would have been to turn Cesaro face and feud with Swagger, culminating in a victory at the next pay-per-view Extreme Rules. Instead he is paired with Heyman, and will remain a heel? A feud with Swagger and Zeb is not as compelling if it's heel versus heel, and we the people (pun intended) will lose interest.
