WWE: 5 Reasons Cesaro's Alliance With Paul Heyman Will Fail
4. Curtis Axel And Ryback Both Failed As Paul Heyman Guys
When all is said and done, Paul Heyman will go down as the best wrestling manager (or advocate) of all time. He has the ability to really get under people's skin, and is just a natural heel on the mic. If the crowd begins to cheer him, he is witty enough to say something to get them to turn on him again. In a time where everyone is trying to play the cool heel, he remains a classic bad guy who garners the boos of the crowd. With all that said, Curtis Axel and Ryback are the last two Heyman Guys and they really struggled last year. Both stars failed in this role, never got over, and eventually the WWE broke the alliance up. Axel and Ryback are now stuck at the bottom of the tag team division, never becoming the big stars everyone thought they would under Heyman. Heyman's success in recent years has been representing established stars in the WWE, like CM Punk and Brock Lesnar. Cesaro is further along in his career than Curtis Axel was, but not to the level of CM Punk or Lesnar, so this will be a true test to see if he can restore his Paul Heyman Guy legacy.
