WWE: 5 Returns That Rocked And 5 That Fizzled

3. The Ultimate Warrior (1996)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6A00fcI40Q Oh man. I can€™t even. I€™ve got one word for you: DESTRUCITY. Sure, now he's going into the Hall of Fame, but in 1996, business was not good in WWF-land. Vince was so desperate for a main eventer that he reached out to Ultimate Warrior, the guy who had literally walked out on the promotion twice before and was now more interested in promoting his Warrior University than with being a wrestler. Not to mention the endless litigation over his own name and likeness that was driving the WWF€™s legal team crazy. But Vince took a chance because it was best for business, and what a flaming trainwreck it turned into. We got Warrior feuding with Jerry Lawler! Warrior feuding with Goldust in a PPV match where Goldust was injured but advertised as being there, resulting in 10 minutes of stalling and a DQ finish! And for the grand finale, after weeks of Vince shamelessly plugging whatever ridiculous merchandise and crackpot teachings that Warrior demanded€well, I€™m sure you can guess the ending. Warrior flaked out and left them without a PPV main event yet again. Vince was so desperate at that point that he brought Sid back and GAVE HIM THE WORLD TITLE. Thanks a lot, Warrior.
