WWE: 5 Ways To Counter Anti-Punk Chants At Raw In Chicago (If He Doesn't Come Back)

3. Keep Batista And Orton In Short Segments

Right now, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match of Wrestlemania is Randy Orton versus Dave Batista. While this has been the long-term plan, the build has failed miserably so far. Batista did a pseudo-heel turn on this past Smackdown after fans vociferously booed him, doing a speech part John Cena ("boo me if you want to") and part Douchetista 2010. Despite how good of a heel character Batista can be, crowds have already passed judgement on Big Dave. They see a part-time guy showing up and taking a top spot from a more-deserving talent who is there all year. Randy Orton is a guy who is there all year, so theoretically he should be cheered against Batista. However Orton has been a failure of booking since his heel turn at Summerslam 2013. His character being secondary to The Authority and needing help to win most of his matches, plus being on TV for now 10+ years has made Orton a stale character. The fans don't react to Orton anymore and don't see him as the top champion in the company. Combine the two together and it's a match that would be disappointing for Battleground, so for Wrestlemania it's a disaster waiting to happen. WWE is committed to the match, so they can't just not have either be on the show. However, limited TV time while doing something productive can be the best of a bad situation.
