WWE: 6 Divas That Could Really Use Character Direction

6. Naomi

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVdLdvU3FyE The current direction of the Divas division seems to be leading to Naomi getting a Divas Title shot against AJ Lee at some point in the near future. It most likely will take place at the Elimination Chamber PPV, but nothing has been officially announced at this point. Why is Naomi considered a top contender? Because of winning a tag match. That's nice. Can we at least hear from her about how much she wants the title or how she doesn't like AJ? At this point we haven't heard a peep from her for months. A simple promo about how "it's my dream to be Divas Champion" is enough. Better than nothing. That's a problem in WWE right now. Too many of the women simply go out there, smile and in her case she dances. There's no depth to the character, though. She's just smiling Naomi that is a good athlete. That's it. I also find it strange that they can acknowledge some of the relationships from Total Divas like Brie Bella being engaged to Daniel Bryan or Natalya marrying Tyson Kidd, but Naomi's wedding with Jimmy Uso isn't mentioned ever. The same can be said about other women on the show. If you can acknowledge them, why not her? It could help. One thing that needs to be changed is she needs to stop being announced from "Planet Funk." It was from when she was a part of Brodus Clay's act, but now that they've moved on from that they need to stop announcing her from a ridiculous place like Planet Funk. Characters like Brodus Clay can be over the top, but Naomi? She should come from a city. Not something silly like that. Give Naomi the chance to cut a promo. Show us a layer to her persona by showing her backstage supporting her husband and try to build a story off that. It's better than being the boring, smiling babyface.
