WWE: 6 Reasons Why Seth Rollins Shouldn't Have Turned Heel

3. Roman Reigns Isn€™t Ready

WWE has so far protected Roman Reigns in such a way that it seems clear that he€™s their newest pet project. Thankfully, he hasn€™t been shoved down our throat like Ryback was when he was being groomed for the role. Reigns' upside is fantastic with his great family pedigree, his good looks, and the fact that he seems to possess the mysterious €œit€ factor that draws people to him. While Roman has come along way in the ring, he€™s still not the most technically sound guy out there. Having Ambrose and Rollins by his side made him more exciting, and protected him from being exposed. His singles matches have been fine, but not main event material. We still have no idea if he€™s capable of breaking off on his own to become a major player, and that€™s absolutely something that shouldn€™t be rushed. There are always exceptions to the rule of putting a talent on the fast track such as Goldberg or Brock Lesnar who needed to be shot to the top early into their career due to their popularity. However, others (like Ryback) fail under the pressure of the spotlight so soon. Reigns doesn't appear to be at that level yet where fans demand him in a top spot. He's barely been given any promo time so far, and usually delivers short sound bites. This summer the plan is for him to battle Triple H at SummerSlam. That could have easily been accomplished without a Shield breakup, and just puts further pressure on Reigns to deliver right now.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
