WWE: 6 Wrestlers Who Won A Championship In Their First Match

2. Gail Kim

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wF8wTfGkJF4 Gail Kim made her WWE debut on June 30, 2003 in Buffalo, New York in a battle royal for the Women's title. Kim had hyped for weeks as essentially a female Rey Mysterio with Matrix-type moves and an exciting moveset. Unfortunately for Kim, she got a very lukewarm reaction during her entrance and, aside from being extremely attractive, didn't really show too much in her first match. Surviving the eliminations of Jazz, Trish Stratus, Ivory, and others, Kim was left alone with Victoria (known as Tara to you Total Nonstop Action fans). Gail countered Victoria's powerbomb attempt and managed to take her over the top rope and win the Women's title. Kim would hold the title for a few weeks before dropping it Molly Holly and immediately turning heel to feud with Trish Stratus. Obviously, WWE wasn't sure what to do with her after she won the title so you can't really blame this one on Gail Kim. In a positive bit of news, Gail Kim is currently the TNA Knockouts champion and, for a while, was one of the highest draws on Impact Wrestling. So, while WWE's debut tactic didn't work out quite the way they expected, Gail has done just fine for herself.
