WWE: 7 Memorable Heel Victories At WrestleMania

1. WrestleMania 21 - Angle Over Michaels

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhWMnzxpNvE It's one of the best matches in WWE history, not just WrestleMania history. When Kurt Angle faced off with Shawn Michaels, fans really wanted Michaels to win because he was arguably the best babyface on the roster at that time. He's one of the best good guys ever. Angle spent time in his career as both a heel and a face, but it's his heel work that was when he was at his absolute best. He had credibility like nobody else in WWE because he was an Olympic gold medalist. Angle would always talk about how great of a performer he was and he proved it week after week for years. By the time they had this dream match in 2005, they were as good as any two wrestlers in the business. They did a phenomenal job of not only building up the match over the course of three months, but also not giving anything away by putting them in tag matches or anything like that. They saved the in-ring stuff for WrestleMania, which was the right way to do it. The match was really exciting and we really didn't know who was going to win. There were so many wonderful nearfalls where it looked like Michaels was going to win. Then it swung back in Angle's favor. It was one of the most even matches ever in terms of how close each man came to winning. Eventually, after 27 minutes of incredible action Angle was able to make Michaels tap out to the ankle lock. Angle vs. Michaels is one of WrestleMania's greatest matches and definitely the best match in WrestleMania history where the heel won.
