WWE: 7 Reasons Why Big E Langston Is A Star

4. He's Got a Great Gimmick

big e langston In a world of ballroom dancers, matadors of misplaced origin, and disco dinosaurs, one could have a much worse gimmick than "Big". We all know that Vince McMahon prefers Superstars who have larger-than-life physiques and personas, but so often these bulky recruits can't talk or wrestle. Big E gets a big check mark beside "muscles", so they gave him a simple gimmick: he's big. He's so big that he likes to get a 5 count when he makes a pin. He uses his powerlifting background as part of his entrance routine, creating an impressive cloud of chalk as he bangs those ham-hands together at the top of the ramp. It's a routine that fans have started imitating when he comes out. He's Brock Lesnar without the accompanying reign of terror. He's Goldberg, if Goldberg had his own My Little Pony. He's Mark Henry, without the 10 years of toiling to get some recognition. He's Ryback, with personality and a plate of kielbasa. When he was just a sidekick, Langston was only big in name. Now he gets to show us how being big can translate to big moves in the ring. It's his turn to differentiate himself in an important way from the other big guys.
