1. His Patience Has Paid Off

Big E has never given the impression of being in a hurry. That's not to say that he's looked slow or stagnant, but simply methodical. Concurrent with his tenure as Dolph and AJ's enforcer, Big E was having a fun run as the NXT Champion. So why waste energy (not to mention, look foolish) trying to compete with Dolph and AJ for screen time, when that wasn't his role on that stage. How many other wrestlers could tolerate being on camera so much, without attempting to get a few words in, or grossly overplaying their parts? Not only did Big E follow along quietly, but his eventual embellishments were a delight for fans. Once Dolph and AJ made their split, everyone assumed that Big E would be the big loser in that divorce the child who neither parent pays much attention to, because they need to focus on themselves. It was a drawn-out affair, with Langston keeping quite mum about it all. He'd be called in to service for a tag match with AJ, and showed his loyalty by showing up and doing the thing. He'd do damage control when AJ was losing control, but he was like a ninja about it. Quick and quiet. He still stayed out of the spotlight, whilst accruing a pile of goodwill from the fans. There is no stronger odor in pro wrestling, than that of Trying Too Hard. Big E was stink-free, and waited until it was his time. Given the fans' reactions when he won the Intercontinental Title and his fine showings ever since, Big E Langston is poised for a great career. Clicking with the fans and getting the company's vote of confidence can be two very different things. Let's hope we'll get to see Big E in his Mr. Man shirts for a long time to come.
