2. He Looks Great As The Intercontinental Champ
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAjXc3EZbyc WWE's favourite part of the Intercontinental belt is its HISTORY. The announce team loves to go on and on about the prestige of this belt, and name some of the respected wrestlers who've held it (always Pat Patterson, rarely Honky Tonk Man). In my opinion, the title fell into relative obscurity until Cody Rhodes revitalized it by a) being a classic wrestler from a wrestling family and b) footing the bill himself to have the belt re-designed. This version of the belt is a beautiful throwback, like Cody himself, to a time where a handshake meant everything and the titles looked timeless. When Big E pinned Curtis Axel for the title in November, the crowd went wild! This spoke volumes about how people feel about Langston, because there wasn't a long build to him winning the belt. Apparently, they didn't need to amp up the anticipation in order to have a big payoff. Everyone was happy, no one more than Big E, whose rare smile lit up the ring. His confidence makes him look like a champ. His lifting background shows that he's a dedicated and disciplined champ. Going back to having a simple gimmick, Big E just being a big, strong guy is a perfectly good persona for an Intercontinental Champ. Fans love him, and he's shown that he's willing to learn from the veterans in the ring.
