WWE: 7 Reasons Why Triple H Is Best For Business

7. Boosting Title Prestige

Ic Title Since the beginning of Triple H's time in Creative Development and on Talent Development, we have seen his influence placed onto the Tag Team Championships and the division in general. Before Triple H, we all saw the division fall away after the unification of the titles (I miss the World Tag Team Championship belts), but under Triple H, we have seen the formation of a powerhouse team that led the division back into PPV prominence, and now we have a highly impactful trio defending the Tag Titles and US Title every PPV, who are consistently on our television screens week in and week out. Thanks, Trips! Along with that, there are numerous potential contenders like The Usos, The Wyatt Family, The Prime Time Players, The Real Americans along with the rising of The Ascension currently happening down in NXT (don't worry Trips, I'll talk about your excellent work in NXT too). Along with a sterling attempt to introduce the youth of the WWE Universe to the lost art of tag team wrestling, Triple H has openly shared his enthusiasm for longer title reigns (though Daniel Bryan seems to be void of this privilege). This has shown with Sheamus' 200+ day World Heavyweight reign, Team Hell NO!'s near 250-day Tag Title reign, and CM Punk's record-breaking 434 day WWE Championship reign. Along with this, the current champions aren't looking vulnerable in their 100+ day reigns. What this has done is not only add legitimacy to each championship, it has also added legitimacy to each wrestler. Let's use Kofi Kingston as an example of a wrestler without legitimacy. He has 3 United States Titles to his name and 4 Intercontinental Titles, with a combined 475 days as Champion of these titles. 7 titles seems impressive from the outside, but he only spends an average of 68 days as Champion. He is just a middle man for the heels, as shown when he took the US Title from Antonio Cesaro only to drop it to Dean Ambrose at the next PPV. On the other hand, you have MVP. He only held the United States Championship twice, yet he has a combined 419 days as Champion and is 4th on the all-time list of longest combined reigns. He gave the US Title prestige, with the longest US reign in WWE history, but the title also gave legitimacy to MVP, as he dethroned Chris Benoit's 200+ day reign to get the Championship and then had a respectable feud with Matt Hardy, along with becoming a double Champion (Tag Team Champion also). These are the sort of positives that Triple H's outlook can bring and have already brought to the likes of CM Punk, Antonio Cesaro, The Shield and Alberto Del Rio. If, under Triple H's guidance, the creative team can improve for the whole year rather than just for WrestleMania season or whenever John Cena is injured, then the Championships could reach levels that the Attitude Era would be proud of.
